Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first images from the live-action movie reboot of Mortal Kombat!

Interestingly, the film, directed by Simon McQuoid and produced by James Wan and Todd Garner, will star Indonesian actor Joe Taslim.

In the film, Joe Taslim will play Sub-Zero.
Sub-Zero is the name of a fictional character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game franchise by Midway Games and NetherRealm Studios.

Meanwhile, the other players are Ludi Lin (Liu Kang), Jessica McNamee (Sonya Blade), Hiroyuki Sanada (Scorpion), Mehcad Brooks (Jax), Lewis Tan (Cole Young), and Chin Han (Shang Tsung).

Comic Book

Meanwhile, ComicBook still leaks very few details about Mortal Kombat.

Unlike previous films based on video game franchises, this one will receive an ‘R’ rating, potentially allowing it to be released in a way that previous Mortal Kombat movies did not have. For the first time, fans will actually see the death shown on the big screen!

More than 25 years after its debut, the 1995 mortal kombat film still holds a special place in the hearts of many fans of the franchise.

Mortal Kombat 11 developer NetherRealm Studios has released a number of skins based on last year’s film, as well as bringing back several actors to reprise their roles. Whether this year’s movie reboot will be able to generate an equally passionate following or not, remains to be seen!

Like many from Warner Bros. Another 2021 film, Mortal Kombat will be released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max. Theatregoers and customers will have the opportunity to watch the film on April 16.
